A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF NATIONAL DEFENSE (DND) THROUGH THE HONORABLE SECRETARY DELFIN N. LORENZANA FOR ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR VARIOUS DISASTER MITIGATING INFRASTRACTURE PROJECTS OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF TAGUM.
WHEREAS, the City Government of Tagum on its ten-point agenda of the City’s developmental thrust includes Genuine Peace, Safety and Security, with the City initiating the incorporation of the Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment in its Comprehensive Land Use Plan;
WHEREAS, in the effort to address the flooding conditions brought about by climate change, the City Government of Tagum needs to repair roads with drainage component, drainage and flood control structures along the settlement areas, business district and coastal area of the City;
WHEREAS, the City Government of Tagum has initiated other means by outsourcing of funds to address the drainage problems in and around the City and in an urgent need to secure the support and assistance of the Department of National Defense (DND) in addressing the disaster mitigating concerns as response to climate change;
WHEREAS, the projects identified to be requested for allocation of funds by the DND are the following:
